To All,

THANK YOU.

On behalf of Officer David Conceicao and his family, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the fundraiser on Saturday, February 7, at the Benfica Club in New Bedford. On that cold and snowy evening, we arrived at the Benfica Club for one reason, to share our love and support with Dave and his family.

As many of you know, Dave unexpectedly suffered a stroke in late November of 2025. Since that life-changing event, Dave has been visiting various specialists, going to physical therapy, and fighting every day to regain his strength and independence. Thank you to everyone who donated, who contributed raffle items, or offered support in any way. The generosity, kindness, and support shown by all of you mean more than words can express.

I would also like to thank the following individuals who deserve recognition for their efforts in putting the fundraiser and raffles together, Sergeant James Estrella, Officer Antonio Pereira, Officer Scott Alves, Officer Mark Conley, and Officer Brian Rei. Thank you, gentlemen, for selling tickets, securing items for donations to hold the raffles, and helping make this event a successful one.

To Carla Amaral and her son Jonathan, the owners of Novo Mundo restaurant, thank you for the food you donated and the generous gift basket. Scott Moniz, from LTD Sports, thank you for the generous donation of the signed Larry Bird and Mike Tyson photographs, which were used for the silent auctions. Wanda Robertson, thank you for the generous donation of the gift basket and the one-night stay at the Fairfield Marriott. Deborah Batista (retired Sergeant, Middleboro PD), thank you for the generous gift baskets that you made for the fundraiser. Thank you to the Calvary Church (Freetown, MA) for the generous donation of the electric chainsaw for the raffle. To Derek Conceicao, thank you for spreading word of the event and selling tickets, and also for taking photographs throughout the evening.

Jimmy, thank you for everything you did in putting this event together. From getting the Benfica Club ready to host the event for us and providing food, for getting New Bedford’s very own Brian Magnett (Bee Mags) to DJ for the event, the items you were able to get donated for the raffles and the silent auctions, everything you did for this event did not go unnoticed and I sincerely cannot thank you enough. It was truly a remarkable effort on your part. You have always been there, ready to help anyone in need at a moment’s notice, and without everything you did this event would not have been as successful as it was. Please also extend my thanks to your father-in-law, Jose Barbosa, for having the Benfica Club made available to us.

Tony, thank you for selling tickets, getting word of the event out, and for helping to set everything up. I also want to thank you for reaching out to Chris Medeiros and Punch Creatives, for the amazing T-shirts that were made for the event. The work that Chris and your wife, Tiara, did for the event is truly appreciated. Tiara, the design for the T-shirts was absolute incredible; the attention to detail and graphics were amazing.

Finally, I would also like to offer a special thank you to Dave and his family. Dave, as you shared during your speech, your incredible wife Nancy has been by your side every step of the way, and we are truly grateful for her strength and support. Thank you for joining us on this evening and allowing us to give you a glimpse of how loved and appreciated you are. Even though we are not present at every appointment, please know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers. We all stand with you, your family, and will continue supporting you throughout your recovery.

I want to offer my thanks to you and your family for joining us on that evening, for coming out and allowing us to show you just how loved and appreciated you are. Even though we are not physically present at the countless appointments and visits, I hope you know that so many of us are with you always, in our thoughts and our prayers, and we support you every step of the way on your recovery journey. Dave, we will continue to be here for you, your family, and know that we love you brother.

With deepest gratitude and appreciation,

Ofc. Lorenzo Gonzalez
